Bahia de los Piratas may not be as popular as the surrounding beaches in the Playa Grande vicinity due to its “off the beaten path” location, but seeking this place out is well worth the effort with its unique rock formations, pirate flags and crystal clear waters.

Quiet and off the beaten path, Brasilito is fitted for those who simply like to kick back, relax, and enjoy the Pacific breeze. Chill out on warm, grey sands with the locals and a few tourists.

Turquoise waters uniquely lined with broken and polished shells in place of sand, Playa Conchal is a special spot, always making the lists of best beaches in the region and country.

Nestled in a bay, and popular for its calm seas, Playa Danta is ideal for paddle boarding, snorkeling, and kayaking. There’s also mountain biking trails, a bike and watersports store and restaurant.

Playa Flamingo is a local favorite among deep-sea fishermen and many sailing charters operate out of the bay. With its white sands and calm blue waters, Flamingo is well worth the visit.

When you find yourself needing a break from the surf, calmer waters and rocky tide pools can be found up a beach trail at the north end of Playa Grande at a little beach called Playa Ventanas.

Just across the estuary from Playa Grande and with 3.5 km of beach coast, warm weather and impressive sunsets, Tamarindo is perfectly located for every tourist activity imaginable.
